On April 22, Leah Smith sent the following email to Anais Borja:

Hi Anais,

I just wanted to follow up with you regarding a conversation you had with some of my colleagues on April 9th regarding the Disability Integration Act and Congressman Peters signing on as a co-sponsor.

As I'm sure you remember, a few people stopped by your office in D.C. and you agreed that he would, in fact, cosponsor the DIA. However, to date, he has not signed on as a co-sponsor. We are wondering if you could let us know what the cause of the delay is because we are very excited to have his support for this piece of legislation.

Anais sent the following response the same day:

Yes! I was out of the country all of last week. Will contact sponsoring office today. Thank you for all the amazing work you do!

On 5/6 S. Poost sent the following email to Anais and cc'ed Amy Bos:

Good Afternoon Anais,

I just wanted to follow up regarding the below correspondence you had with my colleague, Leah Smith, in regards to the Disability Integration Act. We were all so excited to hear this news, but when we didn???t see Representative Peters added as a cosponsor of HR. 555, it became a concern that this once again fell through the cracks. Have you been able to reach Amy Bos in Representative Sensenbrenner???s office? In the off chance that you have not been able to contact Congressman Sensenbrenner???s office I have cc???ed Amy in on this email. I hope that this helps to facilitate the process and ensure that Congressman Peters is added in a timely and efficient manner. I look forward to seeing Congressman Peter???s name on the cosponsor list shortly.

Thank you for your time,

Sophie Poost
