Received a generic response letter from representative Escobar's office regarding the emails and phone calls that we have made to her office. She states that she is getting settled into her office but has heard our concerns and will have a response in more detail for us in the near future. We will follow up with her once again in about a week or so.

Desert ADAPT attended a townhall meeting of Congresswoman Escobar on 1/26/19. We spoke to her about the importance of having her as a cosponsor to the DIA. She stated that she will be reviewng the Legislation. We also spoke to Mariajose Calixtro (Mariajose.Calixtro@mail.house.gov), her district representative. We also flyyered the event with the 1 pager flyer of the DIA. At the bottom of the flyer we wrote in a call to action for people to call or e-mail their house and senate representatives and ask them to support the DIA. We included the contact phone number and e-mail address for Senator Cornyn, Senator Cruz, and Representative Escobar at the bottom of the flyer.
We followed up with an e-mail to Ms. Calixtor on 1/28/19.

Desert ADAPT spoke briefly with with Congresswoman Escobar and her campaign manager Susie Byrd, at the Woman's March in El Paso. We provided them with a copy of the DIA with new numbers. Mrs. Byrd assured us that they were reviewing the legislation and they would have an answer for us in the next couple of days.

Contacted Representatives Office in DC and spoke with Diego. I left a message for her to see if she would be an initial co-sponsor for the DIA. Diego stated he would relay the message to her. I left my phone number for a follow-up.
