Sophie emailed Ethan VanNess on 2/12:

Hi Ethan,

I thought that I would check in on the current status of the Disability Integration Act (HR.555) in your process? The passage of the DIA would mean Disabled Americans would finally be ensured their civil rights. Will Representative DeSaulnier be cosponsoring the Disability Integration Act once more? If he intends to recommit, please reach out to Amy Bos in Representative Sensenbrenner???s office if you have not already.

Thank you,
Sophie Poost

Hi Sophie:

Wanted to update you that we are running this through our legislative process. Hope to have more for you by end of the week next week. Thanks!

Best,

Ethan H. Van Ness

S.P emailed Ethan H. Van Ness on January 30:

Hello Ethan,

I stopped by your office a few weeks ago, but you were unavailable at the time so I just wanted to send an email to follow up. I am reaching out to ask if Representative DeSaulnier will cosponsor the Disability Integration Act again. The DIA was reintroduced on January 15th as HR. 555 (and in the Senate it was introduced by Minority Leader Schumer as S. 117). The bill is both bicameral and bipartisan, and already has 92 cosponsors in the House. Last session Rep. DeSaulnier cosponsored the bill, then known as HR 2472. The bill is substantially the same with minor technical edits which were suggested by AARP. I???m attaching basic information of the bill as a brief overview.

Will Representative DeSaulnier cosponsor DIA?

Thanks,

Sophie Poost

S. Poost visited this office on 1/9. She was told that the office will most likely cosponsor. Grabbed the card for Ethan Van Ness (Legislative Assistant)
