On 5/1/19 - Dara went to office to follow up on the meeting held last week with ADAPT. Met with Aisling McDonough. Good conversation -any briefing - we really don't want this but any briefing will have to be with E&C staff -not an open forum. She agreed. Aisling also asked for a list of possible speakers for this as well as a list of possible witnesses should there be a hearing. She also asked for data - information on how DIA will assist the aging and any statistics on the number of people who wold be affected by DIA. She brought up the cost and sees this as a barrier to getting members on board. Good conversation with her. Aisling also stated that Eshoo will not get on as a Cosponsor for the bill - as she does not doe this for bills in her subcommittee. She is on one bill right now..........
Dara exchanged information and will get her asks - the lists and data and will keep in contact with her on a regular basis.

Sent emails to Karen Chapman her Chief of Staff (COS) as her LD is saying she will not get on the bill. Although she was on last year - she is saying she will not Cosponsor bills under her jurisdiction - and DIA falls in the Health Subcommittee. She will be in charge of a hearing on this so we need to see how we can get her support on this Bill. I emailed Karen for a second time 3/25/2019 requesting a meeting with her to discuss not only Cosponsorship but also movement of DIA in 116th.

Rachel Fybel replied,
"Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for sending. Congresswoman Eshoo won't be cosponsoring legislation that comes before the Health Subcommittee now that she's Chair. Feel free to keep us updated on the status of the bill.
Thanks,
Rachel

He received an email from Rachel and said that she will get this into Congresswoman Eshoo.
