On September 19, ADAPT members stopped into Senator Cruz's office. They met briefly with Legislative Correspondent, Ariel H. Gordon, and then met with Chief Counsel, Judd Stone. Stone sat down and read the bill with ADAPT. He questioned some of the definitions as well as the section about damages against the state. He didn't feel prepared to give a response to the bill at the time but agreed to have a second meeting on October 1, as well as send any questions he may have prior to then.

On August 30th, 2018, C4CI sent an email to Joel Heimbach (joel_heimbach@cruz.senate.gov) asking why Senator Cruz is not a cosponsor of DIA and whether the Senator would commit to being an initial co-sponsor of DIA if elected to the next Congress.

02/02/18: Laura met with Ariel in the hall for 5 minutes to discuss the DIA and MFP. Mentioned they talked DIA back in 02/2016 and that Laura was Ms W/C TX to make constituent connection. Gave 2 pagers and will follow up.
