K. Carroll wrote a follow up email on 5/16/19:

Dear Ms. Davis,

Thank you for taking my call yesterday. This email is just to confirm we spoke yesterday about HR 555, the Disability Integration Act, in follow up to our in person meeting several weeks ago. I look forward to hearing about the Congresswoman Beatty???s decision regarding cosponsorship of this important legislation. You should have all of the information we can provide on HR 555 from our in person meeting.

As you know, ADAPT will be in town again next week. We would like to be able to stop by your office to thank the Congresswoman for cosponsoring the bill.

Sincerely,
Kathryn Carroll
Member, ADAPT

Sophie Poost writes on 4/19/2019 at 12:22PM:
On April 17, Sophie Poost sent the following email to Chonya Davis and received no response:

Hello Chonya,

Thank you again for meeting with us last week about the Disability Integration Act (HR.555). As you requested I am attaching a copy of the redline version of the Disability Integration Act, you will see there are a few changes from last Congress, however the bill at its core is a civil rights bill that looks to ensure Disabled Americans have the right to live in the community, a goal we believe Representative Beatty supports.

Additionally, in the meeting we had discussed the celebration of the ADA that would be taking place in July that would bring thousands of disability advocates and activitists to DC. The event is specifically the Annual National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Conference which takes place from July 21-25. Every year we have a rally at the Capitol and this year it falls on Tuesday, July 23 at about noon. We welcome members of Congress who support disability issues to come speak for about 2-3 minute. If this is something the Representative would be interested in, I would be happy to get you in contact with the appropriate individuals at NCIL to arrange her participation.

Again we would love to know where Congresswoman Beatty stands on the Disability Integration Act; if she is interested in cosponsoring in this Congress please reach out to Amy Bos in Representative Sensenbrenner???s office.

Thank you again for your time!

On April 10, S. Poost and K. Carroll stopped into the office and asked to speak with a staffer, Chonya Davis Johnson. The staffer was in a meeting in the hallway so the ADAPTers waited nearby to grab a few minutes with her. Chonya seemed supportive and wanted information on the July event as well as seeing the language.
