On May 14th, Sophie Poost was told that Crozer Connor was the appropriate staffer to discuss this with. Crozer sent an email asking for background on the bill. Sophie sent the DIA one pager along with the following email:

Crozer,

Thank you for your quick response. I have attached a one-pager with information on the Disability Integration Act (DIA). The bipartisan bicameral legislation ensures that Disabled Americans have the right to home and community based services so that people with disabilities are not forced to live in institutions because the setting is the only way they can maintain long term services and supports. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me, and I would be happy to help. If Representative Thompson would like to be added, please reach out to Amy Bos in Representative Sensenbrenner???s office.

Thank you,
Sophie Poost

On May 14, Sophie Poost called the office and spoke with Jack. He said that Jennifer Goedke was not available but that she had time later in the day and would call Sophie back. Sophie told him that ADAPT would be in town next week so it's important that Jennifer address the bill before then so that ADAPT could say thank you. He told her he would make sure Jennifer knew that ADAPT wanted to stop by next week to say thank you. Sophie sent the following email:

Hello Jennifer,

I just tried to calling you in regards to the Disability Integration Act or DIA. Jack said you were unavailable at this time to discuss the DIA (HR.555), however you would be able to call me back later today. I wanted to follow up the message Jack said he would leave for you with this email, to ensure the message was clear. ADAPT has sent you a few emails in regards to the Disability Integration Act and hasn???t heard back from you and Representative Thompson has not signed onto the Disability Integration Act yet. It is very important that you review the emails that ADAPT has sent you. ADAPT will be in town next week and we would prefer to stop by your office to thank Congressman Thompson for his support.

Please call me back at 585-546-7510 or respond to my email to confirm you received this message and our emails requesting Rep. Thompson cosponsor the Disability Integration Act.

Thank you for your time,

Sophie Poost
